Julian Burton: biography
I am an change consultant, artist and visual facilitator, working in organisations, providing a process: Visual Dialogue, to support leaders in dialogue. I provide a visual perspective on important issues and challenges in meetings; before, during and after. My main skills are listening, synthesising and visualising concepts; developing visual symbols, metaphors and stories that create and hold a reflective space by catalysing and stimulating constructive dialogue .
My work:
• captur the ideas, meanings, concerns and issues expressed in meetings, reflecting back emergent themes visually, as a catalyst for further discussion
• provides a visual overview of a current situation, expressing and conveying complex inter-related issues in context symbolically
• engages a group’s attention and enable them to quickly grasp the main issues and focus on relevant elements
• structures problems to facilitate shared sensemaking, developing novel perspectives that can open up new possibilities in meetings
